Services for Melton Orfield "Cub" Biggs, 83, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Toby Willoughby will officiate.
Mr. Biggs passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 at his home. He was born April 14, 1937 in Tishomingo, OK to Hardie Lester and Odessa Francis Hendricks Biggs. He and his family moved to his area in 1941 from Tishomingo. He attended Latta schools and graduated from Latta High School in 1956.
Cub married Joan Hoff. Cub worked in the oilfield where he made two trips to Alaska and one to Greenland before retiring to become a "Jack of all Trades". He loved riding horses and mules, coon hunting and raising sheep, goats and cattle.
Cub loved to rodeo in his younger days. He produced the Ada Merchants Rodeo for several years and started a Pee-Wee Rodeo in the arena at his home.
Cub was of the Baptist faith, and a family man who loved his family above all.
Survivors include his wife, Joan, of the home; his children, Kevin Grant and wife Judy, Evant, TX, Monica Baumgarner and husband Colby, Davis, OK, and Hardie Biggs and wife Jala, Ada, OK; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Biggs and wife Shirley; two sisters, Francis Thornton and Sherrill Walcott; a brother-in-law, John Hoff and wife Gloria; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Rita Williams.
