Craig Shew

Craig Shew, 84, of Ada, died Wednesday at his home after an extended illness. Private services will be held at a later date.

He was born December 29, 1940, in Canton, Ohio, to Delbert L. and Madeline E. Shew. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from 1958 to 1962. He came to Ada in 1972, after receiving a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Arkansas, to work at the Robert S. Kerr Environmental Research Center as a research chemist. He later received a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Oklahoma and began a private practice here at the law firm of Smith, Shew, and Scrivner.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy M. Shew; a sister, Mrs. Judy Carpenter of Phoenix, AZ; and two nieces, Lisa Carpenter of Indianapolis, IN and Stephanie L. Hisle of Scottsdale, AZ.
