CORDELL GOODPASTURE
ADA-Memorial services for Cordell Ira Goodpasture, 90, Ada, will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Wayne Patton will officiate.
Mr. Goodpasture died Monday, May 23, 2011 at a Tulsa hospital. He was born August 9, 1920 near Vanoss, Oklahoma to Ira Washington and Thena Stephens Goodpasture. The Goodpasture and Stephens families settled in the Vanoss area in the late 1800's. He attended grade school and high school at Vanoss.
He married June Danner in 1940 at St. Louis, Missouri. She preceded him in death on October 29, 1997 in Stockton, California. Mr. Goodpasture was a Cook, Valet and also an Auto Mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was injured during active duty. He resided for many years in Northern California and returned to the Ada area 20 years ago.
Survivors include his children, Colleen Miller, Ron Goodpasture, and Don Goodpasture, all of Stockton, CA; his grandchildren, Aaron, Jaime, Robert, Donald, Ronald, David, Ryan and Darren; one great grandchild, Robert Jr., all of the Stockton, CA area; and a daughter, Patricia in Northern California; his nieces, Eddina Dupree, Arlene Burton, Forrestine Griffith, Murle Axelson, all from the Ada area, Sherrie Pofahl of Oklahoma City, and Elaine Spears from Hollywood, CA; his nephews, Eddy Ronsley of California, and Gary and Jerry Goodpasture from Springfield, IL; cousins, Eldon and Darlene Lee, Ada, Jane and Ron Curtis, Claremore, Bob Wright, IN, Tom Wright, AR, and Charles Richard, Ada; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Velma Ronsley; a brother, Curtis Goodpasture; and two sons, Eugene Goodpasture and Stephen Joseph Goodpasture.
