CORDELIA GREENWOOD
ADA-Services for Cordelia Darnell Greenwood, 82, of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Hickory Hill Baptist Church, Deacon Glen Cockrill and Rev. David Atkins will officiate. Burial will follow at Hickory Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Greenwood died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at a local hospital. She was born April 7, 1929 at Stonewall, Oklahoma to Charley Dobbins Davis and Eva Hayes. She was reared by Jack and Rosie Atkins. She graduated from Bacone High School in Muskogee.
She married Henry Neal Greenwood on July 15, 1950 in Ada. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1999. Mrs. Greenwood was a nurse's aide at the old Cowling Hospital in Ada. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of Hickory Hill Baptist Church and the Chickasaw Nation.
Survivors include two sons, Marland Greenwood of Ada, and Anthony Greenwood of Stonewall; three daughters, Paulette Greenwood of Gaar Corner, Delores Greenwood Stick of Ada, and Roberta Greenwood of Union Valley; two brothers, J. C. Atkins, Garland, TX and David Atkins and wife Lola, Albuquerque, NM; a sister, Rita Yepa and her husband Kemp of Jamez Pueblo, NM; her grandchildren, Stephanie Del Frate, Sonya Tiger-Brown, Shawn Stick, Erika Daniels, Anthony Wayne Greenwood, Marcus McPherson and Brandon Greenwood; 10 great grandchildren; and other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her adoptive parents, her husband, a son, Richard Hayes and a brother, Gene Atkins.
Bearers will be Stanton Atkins, Preston Brown, Terry Del Frate, Wilson Roberts, Michael Roberts and Buster Greenwood.
