Ed Christian

Services for Coe Edward "Ed" Christian, 93, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Zac Christian will officiate. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Christian passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at an Ada assisted living center. He was born December 30, 1924 at Ada to Gilbert and Nannie Lee Goodpasture Christian. He attended Latta and Vanoss grade school and graduated from Byng High School.

He married Mary Marie Andrews February 11, 1945. She preceded him in death October 25, 2003. Mr. Christian was a self-employed trucker and a farmer. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include four sons, Eddie Christian of Byng, Wayne Christian and wife Vicki of Ada, John Christian and wife Janie of Cedar Grove and Larry Christian and wife Rhonda of Byng; a daughter, Linda Thompson and husband Michael of Houston, TX; daughter-in-law, Debbie Christian of Byng; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Jerry Christian and James Christian; six brothers; and six sisters.

His grandchildren will serve as bearers.
