Clyde Baulch

Graveside services for Clyde Franklin Baulch, 97, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Rosedale Cemetery, Rev. Brian Matthews will officiate. The Marine Honor Guard and the Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard will conduct military honors.

Mr. Baulch passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018 at his home. He was born August 21, 1920 at Francis to Clarence and Belle Zora Scroggins Baulch. He graduated from Francis High School in 1937. Mr. Baulch joined the Marine Corps on February 17, 1942 for the "duration", serving in the Pacific for four years during World War II. He was discharged on February 16, 1946, but remained a marine in his heart and in his dedication to family and friends. He lived the Marine Corps motto "Semper Fi" – always faithful his whole life.

On November 10, 1946 he married his sweetheart, Maxine Sutton, to whom he remained dedicated until her death September, 2011. Mr. Baulch owned and operated Baulch Drilling Company and he was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ada.

In addition to her and his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carthell, also a Marine who died in the battle for Iwo Jima.

Survivors include two sons, Trent Baulch and wife Chloe of Tulsa and Terry Baulch and wife Jeanne of Ada; a daughter, Toni Cooper and husband Craig of Springdale, AR; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the First United Methodist Church Foundation, P. O. Box 566, Ada, OK 74821. The foundation is dedicated to the preservation of the church property.
