CLEABURN THORNTON
ALLEN-Services for Cleaburn Dewayne Thornton, 75, of Allen, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Non Free Will Baptist Church, Randall Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Non Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen Chapel.
Mr. Thornton died Sunday, September 21, 2014 at a McAlester hospital. He was born March 24, 1939 in Stuart, Oklahoma to Carl Lee Thornton and Nettie Lee Snyder Thornton. He graduated from Atwood High School.
Mr. Thornton was a Plant Foreman for Vought Aircraft in Grand Prairie, Texas. He served in the U. S. Army being honorably discharged in 1965. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Allen.
Survivors include his children, Sheila Cale and husband Wayne, Lawton, Steven Thornton, Gerty, and Bryan Thornton and wife April, Alvarado, TX; a special friend, Ruby Thornton, Gerty; a sister, Flora Lee Sells and husband Denver, Gerty; two brothers, C. L. Thornton, Calvin and Ray Thornton and wife Sandra, Allen; his grandchildren, Rachel and Raquel Winslett, Chance and Mallory Winslett, Lance Winslett, Aron Thornton and Wyatt Thornton; and five great grandchildren, Eli and Andy Thornton, Dusty and Shiann Walker and Hannah Winslett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Thomas Thornton.
Bearers will be Jeff Sisco, Wesley Winslett, Gary Singleton, Kenny Singleton, Buddy Lawson and Tony Abney.
