CLARA THOMPSON SWEAT
ADA-Services for Clara Thompson Sweat, 92, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Ryan Humble will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall.
Mrs. Sweat died Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at a local nursing home. She was born June 6, 1918 in the Jesse Community, south of Stonewall, Oklahoma to Hubert and Fannie Shepherd Simpson. She attended Steedman school.
She married Newton Thompson on April 14, 1935. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1976. She later married Knox Sweat on November 25, 1978. He died November 1, 1999. Mrs. Sweat was a homemaker and formerly a manager of Hop-N-Lock Storage. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Don Thompson and his wife Joan, Ada; her grandchildren, Leah and Chuck Counts, Francis, Joey and Tammy Thompson, Ada, Wade Thompson and Amber Davis, Ada, Charlie and Gloria Thompson, Jacksonville, FL, Tammy Horton, Ada; great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Cierra and Chesney Counts, Ashlyn, Kalen and Kate Thompson, Chase Norman, Ryan Vick, and Tara Horton.
Mrs. Sweat was preceded in death by two sons, Roger and Sherrill Thompson; a brother, Clifton Simpson; three sisters, Estelle Simpson Madden, Carrie Simpson Jackson, and Alyne Simpson Laughlin
Bearers will be Joey Thompson, Wade Thompson, Chuck Counts, Kalen Thompson, Johnny Thompson and Charlie Thompson.
