ADA-Services for Christy Jo Harjo, 26, Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church, Rev. Don Jacobs will officiate. Burial will follow at the Harjo Family Cemetery near Wewoka Woods. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. Sunday until 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at Mitchell Memorial United Methodist Church, 221 W. 7th, Ada. A Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday at Mitchell Memorial United Methodist Church.

Ms. Harjo died Friday, December 7, 2007 near Oil Center, Oklahoma. She was born June 23, 1981 in Ada, Oklahoma to Timothy and Rhonda Ground Harjo. She lived in this area all her life. She attended Homer and Byng Elementary, Byng High School and graduated from Varnum High School. She was active in basketball at Byng and Varnum, and softball at Byng. She attended East Central University.

Ms. Harjo was employed at Chickasaw Nation Wellness Center. Previously, she was employed with the Chickasaw Nation at Carl Albert Hospital emergency department and float pool. She was a member of Mitchell Memorial United Methodist Church, the Chickasaw Nation Dance Troupe.

Survivors include her son, Nokosi Joe Harjo, of the home; her father, Timothy Harjo, Ada; her mother, Rhonda Harjo, Ada; three brothers, Chupco Harjo, Ada, Conjot Harjo, Ada, and Timothy Deatherage, Ada; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy Harjo, Jr. and Jerome Emarthle.

Bearers will be Randy Ground, Ricky Ground, Thomas Hallett, Nathan Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, and Robert Johnson. Honorary Bearers will be Jacob Galvin, Gus Porter, Billy Porter, Eddie Gardner, and Kevin Chapman.
