Chris Shores

Services for Wanda Christene "Chris" Shores, 66, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. David Gray will officiate. Burial will follow at Five-Mile Cemetery, east of Ada. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Ms. Shores passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at her home. She was born September 17, 1953 at Ada to Donald and Wanda Gammons Shores. She lived in this area all her life. She attended Homer Grade School and graduated from Byng High School in 1971. She graduated from East Central University with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.

Ms. Shores attended Harmony Free Will Baptist Church in Ada. She was a housekeeper for the Village Inn in Ada and enjoyed reading, listening to music and watching the Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball team.

Survivors include a daughter, Angela Wood and husband Brian, Ada; a granddaughter, Madison Wheat, Ada; her father, Don Shores, Ada; her siblings, Alvin Shores, Annita Ward and husband Melvin, and Stanley Shores and wife Lisa, all of Ada; four nieces, Jessica Shores, Lesli Barrett and husband Fred, Sarah Kennedy and husband Joe, and Lindsey Edwards and husband Trey, all of Ada; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her a grandson, Daniel Wheat; mother, Wanda Shores; and a brother, Ronnie Shores.

Bearers will be Brian Wood, Caleb Fires, Melvin Ward, Joe Kennedy, Dennis Wheat and Blake Wheat. Honorary bearers will be Jimmy (Bush) Northcutt, Larry Angelly and Robert Deatherage.
