Services for Chestine "Chet" Underwood, 85 of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2023 at Criswell Funeral Home, Pastor Dusk Monetathchi will officiate.  Burial will follow at Russett Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Underwood passed away Monday, July 10, 2023 at his daughter's home.  He was born May 28, 1938 in Spring Creek, OK to Joe and Mary Hamilton Underwood.

Mr. Underwood served in the United States Army in the United Nations Command.  He was employed with the Chickasaw Nation as a Development Director in Housing.

Mr. Underwood is survived by his three daughters, Amber Underwood of Ada, Christi Underwood and Kevin Smith of Ada, and Marijo Underwood and Byron Wyche of Ada; one brother, Ted Underwood of Bristow, OK; one sister, Delores Monetathchi of Tishomingo, OK; six grandchildren, Sid Underwood, Niles Wyche, Greyson Smith, Perrin Wyche, Chuck Wyche and Gryphon Smith; three great-grandchildren, Finn Wyche, Atlas Wyche and Corbin Wyche; and numerous nieces and nephews, including nephews, Anthony Ashworth and Iann Ashworth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Claudia Joyce Ashworth; two brothers, Andrew Underwood and Gene Underwood; and two sisters, Era Mae Carney and Geraldine Underwood.

Bearers are Niles Wyche, Greyson Smith, David Lankford, Gryphon Smith, Iann Ashworth, Byron Wyche and Dennis Underwood.
