Services for Charles Lee Roberts will be at Criswell Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2026. Mr. Roberts passed away in Oklahoma City on June 16, 2026, at the age of 78.

Charles was born in rural Oil Center, Oklahoma on October 13, 1947, to Charley (Chock) Roberts and Florence Lee Brewster Roberts.

Charles served in the United States Marine Corp and received a medal for bravery. He was a musician and played drums for the Ada Playboys and many other groups. Charles also played for the Senior Citizen’s Dances at Irving School for over twenty years. He enjoyed playing local benefits for the City of Ada and people in need. He loved being out and about and never met a stranger.

Earlier in life, Charles was a carpet layer, land surveyor, oil field worker, ranch hand, truck and bus driver, and salvage equipment operator. He worked as a bouncer at Ken Lance Arena. Charles also enjoyed his time as a carnival stunt car driver.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lance Roberts; siblings Leroy Ward and wife Norma, Janie Lee and husband Bobby, and Herman Ward; brother-in-law, Don Coyle; nephews, Randy Ward and Mike Lee; and nieces, Debbie Pendleton and Renee Lee.

Survivors include his longtime friend, Yvonne Roddy; her children, Dianne Bingamon and husband Dobber and Carolyn Roddy; son, Charles Roberts, Jr. and wife Kelly; daughter, Rebekah Narez and husband Martin; son, Jeff Roberts; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Bryson, Jazz, Mike, Hallie and Marcy and husband Dillon; sister, Carlene Coyle and her family; sister-in-law Shirley Ward; and numerous nieces and nephews.
