Chock Brown
ROFF-Services for Charles Ray "Chock" Brown, 72, of Roff are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Fitzhugh Baptist Church, Rev. Steve Wilburn will officiate. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery at Roff. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at an Ada nursing home. He was born September 17, 1942 in Murray County, Oklahoma to V. A. "Buck" and Anna Marie Webb Brown. He attended Hickory grade school and graduated from Roff High School.
He married Mary Jo Hudson on June 11, 1960 in Gainesville, TX. Mr. Brown owned Brown Machine. They built and installed metal buildings for 35 years all around Pontotoc County. Later, after he retired from Brown Machine, he had a liquid feed company called Rocking B Feed where he delivered feed all around Pontotoc County for more than 10 years. He was also a rancher. He was a member of Fitzhugh Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Brown, of the home; a son, Michael Ray Brown and wife Kim of Fitzhugh; a daughter, Sherri Jo Maloy and husband Mark of Tecumseh; two brothers, Vernon Lee Brown of Roff and Doug Brown of Odessa, TX; five grandchildren, Shaun Brown, Tyler Brown and wife Falesha, Whitney Brown, Mallory Maloy and Megan Maloy; and one great-granddaughter, Sadie Brown.
Bearers will be Don Boatright, Wendell Sherrell, Garland Summers, Charles Morrow, Ron Tidwell and Chuck Foster. Honorary bearers will be Joe Roberts, Shelton Curtis, Doug Cowley, Bob Tollier, Earl Stewart and Shane Ellison.
