CHARLES BIGHAM

ADA-Services for Charles Edwin Bigham, 80, Ada, are 2:00 p.m Tuesday at Morris Memorial Baptist Church. Revs. Joe Dixon and Gary Jamar will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Bigham died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at a local nursing home. He was born December 26, 1929 at Graham, Oklahoma to Charles B. and Lela Mae Suttle Bigham. He and his family lived in Graham until he was 7 years old and then moved to Fittstown. He attended McLish schools and graduated from McLish High School, and received a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree.

He married Emogene Hobgood on January 24, 1949 at Sunshine, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on May 29, 1994. Mr. Bigham was an Industrial Arts and Vocational Shop teacher at Latta High School until his retirement. He was a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, and was an original board member of the Pontotoc Technology Center for 20 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Jeter and husband Bob, Ada; one son, Chuck Bigham, Ada; two sisters, Beuna Glenn, Oklahoma City, and Sue Aday, Ada; five grandchildren, Shelly Williams and husband Jeff, Ada, Stacy Presley and husband Josh, Ada, Sonja Jeter and her fiancé, Jesse Anderson, Ada, Chad Bigham, Ada, and Cody Bigham, Ada; and six great grandchildren, Jace, Kale, and Katelynn Williams, and Jillian, Jackson and Jaycee Presley.

Bearers will be Bill Johnson, Chris Lott, Stan Cochran, Mike Casady, Mike Byers, and Larry Little. Honorary bearers will be Dale Archer, Donnie James, Phil Shivers, Joe Lancaster, Frank Jared, Chris Flowers, Lee Swanson, Mac McKee, Elmer Gerth, Alvin Jamar, Clyde Casady, Jim Jackson, Buck Crabtree, and Ted Glover.
