Obituary

Charles Kenneth Acker, 87, of Ada passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at his Ranch in Stonewall, Oklahoma.

He was born along with his twin Bernie, on January 10, 1936, in Ada to Annabelle and Gene Acker.

In 1954, Charles graduated from Ada High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Oklahoma in 1958. While at the University of Oklahoma, he was a member of the Kappa Sig Fraternity. In 1977, he received his Masters of Science from East Texas State University with a specialization in computer science.

He married Lila Faye Ford on January 12, 1962.  They welcomed their only daughter, Kim in July. For many years, the Acker's made their home in Greenville, Texas where he was a Computer Software Developer for E-Systems. In 1981, Lila and Charles moved to Birmingham, Alabama.  He was a founder and Vice-President of Marketing for the Condor Corporation.

When Charles retired, the Condor Corporation had become the largest software provider for pharmaceutical software in the United States. The couple returned to Ada in 1994.

Survivors include a daughter, Kim Hext and her husband, Greg, of Dallas; a grandson, Preston Hext, of Dallas; a brother, Bernie and his wife, Kay, of Castle Rock, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A reception for family and friends of Charlie will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, at the Oak Hills Golf & Country Club in Ada.
