Chad Miller
Memorial services for Chad R Miller will be held in the chapel at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada, Oklahoma at 1 pm on Friday, January 13, 2023.
Chad was called home to his Lord and Savior on January 4, 2023. He peacefully slipped away surrounded by his loving girlfriend, sister, and two daughters.
He was born on January 24, 1961 at Valley View Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma to Ray and Valine (May) Miller. Chad grew up on the family farm in Jesse, and attended school at Stonewall, where he developed a passion for athletics. In high school he was a 4-year member of the varsity basketball and baseball teams. As a second baseman, he played a significant role in his high school team winning the state championship in 1979.
He continued his education at East Central University in Ada, where he received his Baccalaureate Degree in Cartography. He began his career in Saint Louis, Missouri with the Department of Defense, and later moved to Fort Worth, Texas to work for the Department of Agriculture, where he retired at age 57. While working in Texas, he met and married Cara Lee Frank. They welcomed two beautiful daughters, Ciera Marline on January 6, 1995, and Corin Chayon on June 5, 1997.
Fatherhood was a special and dear role to Chad. He instilled a love for travel, outdoor activities, and new experiences. He was always willing and eager to participate with the girls in all activities. While in college, Chad developed a love for snow skiing, and shared this love with his family, teaching the girls to ski at a young age. Along with skiing, he taught his girls many things, from throwing and hitting a ball to fishing at the farm to the importance of financial responsibility.
Chad was known for his adventurous spirit. He loved to travel, and was always planning the next trip to go on with his family. His favorite places to visit were the mountains of Colorado and the beaches of Florida. A true sportsman, Chad always had the best attitude when competing against others. He truly loved the game, and wanted to make sure others had an enjoyable experience too.
Chad is survived by his loving girlfriend, Tammy Nitz, of Shawnee, OK; His daughter Ciera and husband Mark Knapp of Tuttle, OK; His daughter Corin Miller of Oklahoma City, OK; His sister Patricia Ann and husband Gaylon Hawkins of Edmond, OK; His granddaughter Reagan Lee Knapp.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Valine Miller, and his grandparents, Feron Haverty (Miller) and Rayford and Katie May.
