ADA-Graveside services for Cecil M. Jackson, 90, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2007, at Rosedale Cemetery, Rev. Earl Hood will officiate.
Mr. Jackson died Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at a local nursing home. He was born March 29, 1917 at the Rocky Chapel Community, near Ada, Oklahoma to William Edward and Ila A. White Jackson. He lived in this area most of his life and graduated from Ada High School.
He married Gertrude Penrod on February 15, 1942 at Yuma, Arizona. She preceded him in death on October 29, 1995. Mr. Jackson was the first projectionist at the McSwain Theatre. He retired as the maintenance engineer at the Aldridge Hotel, and later was employed with the East Central University heating and air conditioning department, retiring in 1979 after 15 years of service. Mr. Jackson was a member of the Ada Planning and Zoning Commission, retiring in 2006 after 29 years of service.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Cora Jackson, Ada; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Quick, Ada, and Dorothy Beighle, Mustang; one brother-in-law, Robert Penrod, Roff; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ila Shoemaker, and a son, William Glenn Jackson.
