CAUSBY STRONG, JR.

ADA-Graveside services for Causby Ernest Strong, Jr., 87, of Ada, formerly of Oklahoma City are 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Moore City Cemetery in Moore, Oklahoma. Rev. Linda Snelling will officiate.

Mr. Strong died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at an Ada nursing home. He was born March 4, 1927 in Orlando, Oklahoma to Causby Ernest Strong and Irma Lee Ward Strong. He attended school in Oklahoma City.

He married Zelma Ruth Benton on October 9, 1948. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2013. Mr. Strong was a Supervisor for Southwestern Bell Telephone, retiring in 1985 after 38 years of service. He was a member of Cherokee Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, the Pioneer Club and the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Strong served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include a son, Roger Strong and his wife Debbie of Ada; a daughter, Laurice Jones and her husband Chuck of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren, Jeremy Strong and his wife Mika of Allen and Robin Anderson and her husband Aaron of Ada; four great grandchildren, Gehrig Strong and Abbey Strong, both of Allen, Hailey Baber and Paislee Anderson, both of Ada; and a sister, Elaine Terry of Stringtown, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Kendall Strong of Moore.

Bearers will be Chuck Jones, Jeremy Strong, Gehrig Strong, Roger Strong and Aaron Anderson.
