Catherine Wood

Services for Catherine Wood, 81, of Connerville are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Kellos Walker will officiate. Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wood passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at an Ada assisted living center. She was born November 28, 1935 at Ada to Eual and Bessie Nelson Williamson.

She married Cecil Wood November 28, 1953 at Hugo. He preceded her in death February 21, 1987 in Ada. Mrs. Wood retired from Brockway Glass Company and later was appointed to the Chickasaw Nation Election Commission. Mrs. Wood was a member of the Connerville Baptist Church and a Chickasaw Nation Elder.

Survivors include two daughters, Tonya Presley and her husband Jay of Ada and Lucretia "Crisha" Vogt and her husband Arron of Ardmore; son, Cecil Shawn Wood, Jr. of Ada; nine grandchildren, Josh Presley and wife Stacy, Randy Presley and wife Laura, Brandon Vogt and wife Sarah, Zach Vogt, Jacob Vogt, Tarron Vogt, Dylan Wood, Parker Wood and Memphis Wood; 11 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Martha Jo Wood; and a grandson, Tyler Wood.

Bearers will be her grandsons and honorary bearer will be Daryl Sawyer.
