Carrie Lois Reed was born on April 3, 1935 in Ada, Oklahoma to parents Lee Henry and Mae Perry. She was called home to Heaven on July 5, 2024 to join her husband, James Strough, daughters Sherry King and Paula Baber, son Royce Baber, granddaughter Carrie Taylor, and brother Bill Perry.

Carrie enjoyed knitting beautiful quilts to be enjoyed by family and friends. To many, her quilts were an extension of her warmth and love. Being a homemaker, Carrie had a talent for being an excellent cook and her gift will carry on through her children and grandchildren. She was a proud Chickasaw Native and collected Native American memorabilia. Her love for her tribe can be seen through her family, as well as her love of OU football. Of all the things she did and spent time on, family was most important to her, especially grandchildren. She was always there to help, love, support, and teach her loved ones. Witty, funny, caring, and protective are words that can be used to describe Carrie and knowing her was a blessing. Her resilience and strength carried her through life, teaching those around her to never give up. Survivors include daughters Carol Hamilton and Donna Roark, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even great, great grandchildren.
