CAROLYN COOK
ADA-Services for Carolyn Cook, 70, Ada, are 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Rev. Jill Ackery and Rev. Buddy Baltimore officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee. The family will receive family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Carolyn died Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at a Norman hospital. She was born Nov. 27, 1941, to James Thomas and Leona Hattie Everett Hunsaker at Ada. She was a lifelong resident of the Ada area. She graduated from Ada High School and was a bookkeeper with various offices including Paul Alford, Dr. Osborn, Dr. Aaron, Dr. Taylor and Wyatt & Co. CPA. Mrs. Cook had also served with the United States Department of Interior Fire Control Center in Anchorage, Alaska, and was a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. She had been a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Ada, First Baptist Church of Ada and was currently a member of First Presbyterian Church of Ada. She enjoyed traveling, sewing quilts, cooking, boating, fishing and most importantly spending time with her family.
She and Michael Cook were married Jan. 3, 1960, in Ada.
Survivors include her husband, Mike, of the home; one son, Michael Cook II and wife Terri, Newcastle; one daughter, Cari Lyn Crisp and husband Monty, Edmond; nine grandchildren, Star, Skye, Misty, Kindra, Stori, Tara, Cody, Kennedy and Madison; one great-grandchild, Kindal; one sister, Genny Schoonver and husband DeVerne, Leawood, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joyce Pennington; and a brother, James Thomas II.
Bearers are Richard Cook, Monty Crisp, Michael Cook II, James Hines, Claude Cook, Dennis Johnson, Tom Short and Larry Allen. Honorary bearer is DeVerne Schoonver.
