CAROL CLAXTON
ADA-Services for Carolyn Sue "Carol" Claxton, 64, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Jim Freeman will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley.
Mrs. Claxton died Friday, August 12, 2011 at a local hospital. She was born July 25, 1947 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Ervin and Eula Mae Finley Moody. She attended school in Washington, Oklahoma.
She married Billy Claxton on July 29, 1962. She and her husband moved to the Ada area in 1978 from Cushing, Oklahoma. Mrs. Claxton was a sales clerk for Stage Department Store, J. C. Penney, Dunlap's and most recently for Hudson Furniture in Ada.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Claxton, of the home; a son, Billy Don Claxton and his wife Amanda, Ada; two daughters, Sheila Goad and her husband Tommie of Ada, and Kim Guess and her husband Greg of Ada; one brother, Gerald Moody and his wife Armelda, Washington, OK; two sisters, Shirley Elms of Norman and Betty Biby and her husband Butch, Purcell; and eight grandchildren, Cody Claxton, Craig Claxton, Miranda Claxton, Jennifer Perry, Zachary Perry, Lauren Guess, Baylee Guess and Bree Guess.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Monroe Moody, Merrell Moody, and Gary Moody.
Bearers will be Jay Hudson, Cody Claxton, Craig Claxton, Zack Perry, Leonard Croy, and Destry Yeargan.
