Memorial services for Caroline (Carolyn) Belva Abbott Aday, 91, of Ada will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Her son-in-law, Tommy Chaffin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Aday passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at her home. She was born January 5, 1928 in Pecan Grove, the youngest of 11 children of Jourdan Avner and Zona Irene Smith Abbott.
She married Russell Taylor Aday February, 1947. He preceded her in death December 10, 1992. Mrs. Aday became a Christian as a young girl and was a member of the Union Valley Baptist Church. She has always had a love of art from a very young age and always gave God the credit and glory for her abilities. She taught art lessons at a studio behind her home for approximately 40 years and started the Magic Brush Art Guild in 1977 to allow artists in Ada an avenue to show their art work.
Survivors include her children, Russell R. Aday of Ada and Lin Chaffin and her husband Tommy of Ada; her granddaughters, Amy Aday and Brooke Harris and her husband Chris, all of Ada; and many other great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, sisters, and other family members.
