SONNY WORRELL
STONEWALL-Services for Carl "Sonny" Worrell 76, of Stonewall are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Stonewall First Baptist Church, Revs. Justin McKee and Richard Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Worrell died Monday, January 28, 2013 at his home. He was born August 24, 1936 at Neodesha, Kansas to Carl and Helen Smith Worrell. He attended school in Fredonia, Kansas and graduated from Fredonia High School. He attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater for three years.
He married Mary Sue Shaw on November 27, 1956. Mr. Worrell was a professional cowboy, rancher and a cattle buyer. They moved back to this area in July 2011 from Altoona, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue Worrell, of the home; two daughters, Kelly Reynolds and her husband Lewis of Allen, and Beverly "Cissy" Taulman and her husband Gene of Maramec, OK; a son, Neil Worrell and his wife Val of Altoona, KS; two grandchildren, Cacee Sue Taulman and Colby Wayne Worrell; and two step-grandchildren, Kerry Hooser and Vicki Brogdon; five great grandchildren, Joey Gastineau, Robert McMillin, Mackenzie Brogdon, Mackayla Brogdon and Matthew Brogdon; and a brother, Larry Worrell and his wife Ardith of Phoenix, AZ.
Bearers will be Gene Taulman, Lewis Reynolds, Russ Walker, Robert Pickens, Jeff Blanton and Grady Potter.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, Rodeo Historical Society, 1700 NE 63rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73111 in memory of Carl "Sonny" Worrell.
