Obituary

ADA-Services for Carl Wesley Ivy, 91, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. John Haynes will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada. The Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Ivy died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at home. He was born September 23, 1922 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to J. A. and Pearl McCurly Ivy. He attended the Pauls Valley school system.
He married Bertha Turner on April 7, 1944. She preceded him in death in 1999. Mr. Ivy was an Iron Worker in California and was a member of the Iron Workers Union. He was affiliated with the Christian Life Center in California. Mr. Ivy served in the United States Army during World War II and he was a member of the American Legion in California
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Smith and husband Nelson of Ada; five grandchildren, Cherie Henerick and husband Chris of Texas, Janet Ivy of Texas, Kenny Ivy and wife Sally of Texas, Siobhan Long and husband Patrick of Oklahoma City, and Amber Smith of Ada; seven great grandchildren, Ariel McPherson and Aaron McPherson, Kenny Ivy Jr., Erica Ivy, Dylan Long, Kathryn Long, and Jaelynn Long; and one great great grandson, Milo Ivy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, David Ivy and Carl Ivy; and two brothers, Earl Ivy and Calvin Ivy.
Bearers will be Wade Atkeson, Zachary Lamb, Patrick Long, Dennis Mackey, Noel Trobaugh and Kenny Ivy. Honorary bearers are Rusty Goodknight and Dillion Atkeson.
