Services for Canaan James Nance, 10, of Stonewall are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Blue Baptist Church, Rev. Jordan Parnacher will officiate.  Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery.

Canaan was made whole Monday morning, August 29, 2022 at home in Pontotoc, OK.  He was born August 14, 2012 in Ada to Gregory Nance & Kami Gastineau.

Canaan enjoyed snuggles, car rides, bath time, floating in the pool, and watching Mickey Mouse. God gave Canaan to our family to give us something to fight for, to show us unconditional love, to give us hope and to bring us joy. All the proof of God's love anyone needed was in Canaan's eyes. He was a gift from Heaven. Love will be what we remember most.

He is survived by his parents; maternal grandparents, James and Gaye Gastineau, of Pontotoc, Paternal Grandparents, Duane and Sharon Nance, of Tishomingo, Maternal Great Grandfather, Ben Gastineau, of Milburn, and Paternal Great Grandmother, Lois Nance, of Seminole; sister, Viviann Nance, of the home; brother, Jazper Nance, of the home; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Canaan was preceded in death by his Maternal Great Grandmother, Karen Grissom; Maternal Great Great Grandmother, Mabel Leming; and Paternal Great Grandfather, Robert "Bob" Nance.

Bearers are Jake Wallace, Hunter Rose, Caleb Kerns and Mateo Gutierrez.
