CALVIN LAXTON
WARR ACRES-Services for Calvin Laxton, 89, of Warr Acres, formerly of Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Maxwell Cemetery.
Mr. Laxton died Friday, July 5, 2013 at an Oklahoma City hospice. He was born November 30, 1923 in Burr Valley, Oklahoma to John and Julie Myers Laxton.
He married Christine A. Lorene Massey on November 30, 1946 in Coalgate. She preceded him in death on August 27, 1995. Mr. Laxton was a Supervisor for the Ideal Cement Plant, known now at Holcim in Ada until his retirement. He was also a farmer. He was of the Baptist faith and had served in the U. S. Army during World War II from January 13, 1943 until being honorably discharged February 16, 1946.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Sue Laxton Sliger of Barry, TX, Christine (Tina) Eveline Laxton Wood of Warr Acres, OK, and Janette Lee Laxton Gilpatrick-Jones of Bethel Acres, OK; one sister, Gracie Duty of Stonewall; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a daughter, Nancy Louise Laxton Phillips on February 16, 1997.
Bearers will be his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
