Graveside Services for L. W. (Butch) Sutton, 78, of Ada are 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rev. John Henry Lippard will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. today (Oct. 1 st ) at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Sutton passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020 in an Owasso assisted living center. He was born December 29, 1941 at Pickett, OK to Alfred H. and Edith C. Farr Sutton. He attended Pickett Grade School and graduated from Vanoss High School in 1959. He was a lifelong resident of the Ada area.
He married Anita K. Raper April 7, 1962 in Ada. Mr. Sutton had worked in construction, the oilfield, and was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of Community Free Will Baptist Church and he enjoyed his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, gardening, hunting, fishing and his horses.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Sutton, of the home; his sons, Wayne Sutton and wife Darla, Katy, TX and James Sutton and wife Camille, Oolagah, OK; two brothers, David Sutton and wife Kathleen, McKinney, TX, and Delton Sutton and wife Lahonda, Pickett, OK; two sisters, Elwanda Kelso, Purcell, OK and Donis McDonald, Pickett, OK; brother-in-law, Wendell Raper and wife Patsy, Ada, OK; four sisters-in-law, Ruth Sutton and Rachel Sutton, both of Pickett, OK, Betty Raper, Norman, OK and Jackie Niehus and husband Dale, Fairmont, OK; his grandchildren, Dylan Sutton, Houston, TX, Kara Sutton, Katy, TX, T. J. Benfer, Tupelo, OK, William Benfer, Owasso, OK and Taylor Benfer, Oolagah, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Evelyn King; and two brothers, Paul Sutton and Charles Sutton.
Honorary bearers will be David Sutton, Delton Sutton, Wendell Raper, Harry Tunnel and Israel Guerrero.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1840 Old Spanish Trail, Houston, TX 77054.
