Bud Ross

Services for Louis Edison “Bud” Ross, 82, of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2026, at Central Church of Christ. Mr. Brian Hackney will officiate.

Mr. Ross passed away Friday, June 12, 2026, at his home. He was born August 24, 1943, in Seminole, to Guy and Ida Mae Steele Ross.

In February 1971, Mr. and Mrs. Ross moved to Ada, Oklahoma, where he began working at S & Q Clothing. Soon afterward, he answered a higher calling and devoted his life to ministry. He served as the youth minister and later as a preacher at Central Church of Christ, faithfully ministering to others for 47 years. Through his teaching, guidance, and example, he touched countless lives and helped shape generations of believers.

Mr. Ross earned his bachelor's degree from Oklahoma Christian College and later received his master's degree from Abilene Christian University. His commitment to education reflected his lifelong passion for studying and sharing God's Word.

After decades of devoted service, Mr. Ross retired from full-time ministry in 2018. Even in retirement, his influence continued through the many relationships he had built and the lives he had impacted throughout the years.

He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, compassionate spirit, dedication to his church family, and commitment to serving others. His life stands as a testament to faithful Christian service and the enduring power of kindness, wisdom, and love.

Mr. Ross will be deeply missed by all who knew him and were blessed by his ministry.

Survivors include his wife, Judy, of the home; two sons, Toby Ross and wife, Diana, of Ada, and Jody Ross, of Houston; brother, Guy J. Ross, of Yukon; sister, Gwen Briggs, of Franklin, TX; and three grandchildren, Madi Kate Ross, Boady Ross, and Mallory Ross.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janice Blankenship.
