BUCK CRABTREE
STONEWALL-Services for Buck Crabtree, 80, of Stonewall are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Central Church of Christ, Kelly Benson and Tyler Cope will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Crabtree died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in Ada. He was born January 2, 1933 at Lane, Oklahoma to William and Addie Lee Crabtree. He attended grade school at Lane and graduated from McLish High School in 1952. While at McLish, he was a basketball player and was on the All-State Team.
He married Ina Marie Griffin on December 31, 1952 at Harden City. Mr. Crabtree was employed with Trader Mills for 35 years as a salesman, driver, production manager and retired as the general manager in 1993. He was a longtime member of Fittstown Church of Christ. Mr. Crabtree bred quarter horses for over 40 years and he had served on the Big 5 Board of Directors from 2002 until 2012. Mr. Crabtree served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. While in the Army, he played on an Army basketball team.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Crabtree, of the home; a daughter, Beth Crabtree of Stonewall; one son, Todd Crabtree and his wife Joy of Byng; a brother, Bill Crabtree of Ada; sister, Evelyn Garrett of Albany, OR; two granddaughters, Elisabeth Seitz and her husband C. J. of Edmond, and Laura Crabtree of Oklahoma City; and a sister-in-law, June Griffin of Ada.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Crabtree, and a brother, Claud Crabtree.
Bearers will be Jerry Winters, Shane Graham, Matt Robertson, Michael Scott, Butch Harris and Bob Griffin. Honorary bearers will be Eldon Flinn, Bill Vineyard, Don Mann, Bill and Carol Ammons, Bill and Ramona Scott, Carl and Yvonne Tackett, Onus and Sue Jordan, Jackie and Jeanie Crawford, Paul Delaplain, Corky Stanton, George Newberry, Jessie Wyche, Ross and Sandra Wyche, and Dan and Cathy Hilgert.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Stonewall-McLish Education Foundation, P. O. Box 25, Stonewall, OK 74871.
