Graveside services for Bryna Bardine Katz Lane, 91, of Ada will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Temple B'Nai Israel Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Rabbi Vered Harris will officiate.
Mrs. Lane passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at a local hospital. She was born April 1, 1929 in Ada, OK to Ben and Sadie Bardine Katz. She graduated from Ada High School in 1947. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from the University of Oklahoma in 1951.
She married Sam M. Lane July 1, 1954. He preceded her in death in 1973. Bryna met Sam while doing secretarial work in Dallas, TX. After their marriage, they lived in San Antonio, TX where she and Sam owned a ladies clothing store. They moved to San Angelo, TX in 1960. Mrs. Lane was a high school business teacher in San Angelo and also taught a few Jr. College courses. After her retirement, she did paid and volunteer work for Adult Literacy and Sr. Job Placement Programs. Bryna volunteered for programs such as the boys club, Senior Tax filing assistance, and the hospital gift shop. She returned to Ada around 1990 and continued to do volunteer work for a number of years and was a member of book, bridge and study clubs.
Survivors include a son, Ronald D. Lane and partner, Mary Jane Sepmeier; brother, Henry Katz and wife Helen, Ada; three nieces, Marsha Katz Rothpan and husband Jeff, Beth Katz Sherry and husband Mike and Barbara Katz Cobin and husband Todd; two great-nieces, Leah Sherry and Shayna Cobin; two great-nephews, Gabe Sherry and Drew Cobin; and a cousin, Ann Pepper.
