Brenda Matlock
On February 5, 2025, Brenda Matlock, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully went home to be with her Lord at her residence, surrounded by her loving daughters at her bedside.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Rosedale Cemetery, in Ada.
Brenda was born on November 21, 1953, to David Johnson and Dorothy Allen. She was a devoted woman of faith who loved Jesus deeply and was a faithful member of Roundflat Pentecostal Church in Fruitvale, Texas. Her life was centered on faith, family, kindness, and compassion.
A true homemaker, Brenda dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a home filled with love, warmth, and acceptance. She was known for her strong character, gentle spirit, and personable nature. Brenda loved taking care of her family, and she was loved by many. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David Johnson and Dorothy Allen; her brother, Johnny Johnson; and her beloved husband, Robert Matlock, who passed away on December 24, 2024; and her great grandson, Parker Poole.
She is survived by her loving daughters: Tammy Scott and husband Chris of Wills Point; Kathy Morris and husband Dustin of Ada; Bobbie Hearron and husband Brad of Canton; and Amy Duffey and husband Byron of Rockwall. Brenda's legacy is one of unwavering faith, unconditional love, and steadfast devotion to her family. Though she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with her husband and parents and rejoicing in the presence of her Savior.
Bearers will be Ralph Johnson, brother, Chris Scott, son-in-law, Dustin Morris, son-in-law, Clint Buffkin, grandson, Robert Matlock, grandson, and Blake Bulin, grandson.
