Brenda Johnson

Memorial services for Brenda Joyce Johnson, 78, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Monday at Central Church of Christ, Bud Ross will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Johnson passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 at her home. She was born October 17, 1941 at Nashville, TN to Glenn Austin and Beulah Mae Miller Henry. She and her family moved from Nashville to Ada where she attended Ada grade schools and graduated from Ada High School. Brenda received a Bachelor's Degree and Master's degree in Education from East Central University.

She married Bill Johnson June 16, 1960. Mrs. Johnson was an elementary school teacher, having taught in Alaska for three years, Latta and Ada, retiring after many years of teaching. She was a long-time member of Central Church of Christ and loved spending time with her four grandkids.

Survivors include her husband, Bill, of the home; two sons, Mike Johnson and wife Debra and Jay Johnson and wife Shelly, all of Ada; two grandsons, Christian Johnson and wife Abby, Piedmont and Scott Johnson, Ada; two granddaughters, Kendal Johnson and Caden Johnson, both of Ada; a sister, Ann Lancaster; brother, David Henry; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Henry; and a sister, June Armstrong.

Due to Covid-19, it is requested that masks be worn for the visitation and the service.
