Boyce Jones, Sr.

Services for Boyce Gene Jones, Sr., 82, of Ada will be held 10:00 am Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Byng First Free Will Baptist Church, Ada. A short memorial to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Ada.

Boyce Gene Jones Sr. was born in March of 1937 to Lee Jones and Sally Beulah Berry Jones. He graduated from Vanoss High in 1955. He enlisted in the US Army and served his country as cook before returning to Oklahoma to run the family-owned Grade A dairy farm.

One night Boyce was at the soda fountain with friends and saw the most beautiful women in the world drive by in 1955 Chevy. Boyce stopped what he was doing and followed her down the road. That's when he met Gloria Darlene Alford, who became his wife. They spent fifty years together before Darlene passed away in 2011.

Boyce was always active in the church. He drove the church bus for First Pentecostal Holiness Church, First Freewill Baptist Church, and others for years. He and his late wife, Darlene, promoted gospel singings for decades. And up until his death, he ran the sound for Byng Freewill Baptist Church.

Boyce and Darlene are survived by their four children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
