Bobbie (Weatherly) Sloan
Graveside services for Bobbie Joe Weatherly Sloan, 86, of Norman, formerly of Ada will be held on Thursday, 2:00 p.m., January 17, 2019 at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada. Rev. Harold Ware will officiate.
Mrs. Sloan passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at a Norman nursing home. She was born February 29, 1932 at Tupelo, OK to Robert Vernon and Lollie Muldrow Mann. She graduated from Tupelo High School.
She married William Weatherly, Jr. in 1951, where she and William (Jr.) Weatherly was owner and operator of Ada Western Store in Ada, OK, and to this union they had two sons, William E. of New Haven, MI and Mickey D. of Norman, OK. She was preceded in death by William in 1977.
Bobbie and the family moved to New Haven, MI in 1964, where she worked in retail for many years before moving to Africa in 1971. After returning from Africa, Bobbie moved back to Michigan living in Romeo, MI, where she later met and married Gene Sloan. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Returning to Oklahoma, in 1986, Bobbie worked for Cablevision Multimedia in Moore, OK and in telemarketing for Resthaven Funeral Home in Oklahoma City before retiring.
Survivors include two sons, William E. Weatherly and wife Denise Sue and Mickey D. Weatherly and wife Donetz; her grandchildren, Darryl Weatherly and wife Jodi, Kyle Weatherly and wife, Jordan Morris, Heath Weatherly and wife Alisha and Shirna Weatherly-Paige and husband Freddy; her great-grandchildren, Dezmond (Samantha) Weatherly, Donovan Weatherly, Dominic Weatherly, Brieanne Paige, Trey Paige, Chloe Weatherly, Greyson Weatherly and Averi Weatherly; great-great-grandchild, Coltton Weatherly.
The family wishes are that those who wish may make memorials to please do so to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, for Alzheimer's Research, 825 NW 13 th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104-5097.
