BOB BARTON
ADA-Services for Bob L. Barton, 65, Ada, are 11:00 A.M. Monday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Rev. John Norvell will officiate. Burial will be at Atwood Cemetery.
Mr. Barton died Friday, July 25, 2008 at his home. He was born August 16, 1942 at Tulsa, Oklahoma to Kirk and Elizabeth McCullough Barton. He graduated from high school in Clinton, Oklahoma and received a Bachelor's degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. He also attended East Central University in Ada. Mr. Barton moved to Ada in 1973 from Kingfisher, Oklahoma. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves.
He married Ann Black Collins on February 20, 1983 in Ada. Mr. Barton was a self-employed rancher and a crop insurance adjuster. He was also a social worker with the Department of Human Services in Coal County.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Barton, of the home; his children, Sarah Barton Carlsson and husband Niclas, Ada, Elizabeth Barton, Washington, D. C., Laura Collins-Orabone and husband Ken, Wakefield, Rhode Island, and John Christopher Collins and wife Amanda, Atwood; three grandchildren, Colton Collins, Emily Collins, and Caleb Orabone; and a brother, John Barton and wife Nancy, Wichita, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Betty Barton Woods.
Honorary bearers will be James Ogle, Gary DeShields, Heath Traylor, Jim Neal, Chad Nix, Walter J. Mayer, Edward Barton, Michael Mayer, Frank Jared, Al Cross, L. B. Carr, Leon Chapman, Dave Snyder, and Bill Cross.
