Bill Macon

Memorial services for Billy (Bill) Macon, 91, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home, Dr. Rusty Fuller will officiate.

Mr. Macon passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 in Ada. He was born November 3, 1926 at Los Angeles, CA to David and Myrtle Sawyer Macon.

Mr. Macon taught industrial technology, cabinetry and homebuilding at California State University in Long Beach, CA for almost 30 years. He also owned racehorses and was actively involved in the racing industry for over 50 years. AS a member of the U. S. Army, he served his country in World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Marie (Chadwick) Macon, of the home; a son, Kevin Macon and wife Laurie, Sallisaw; three step-daughters, LaDawn Webb and husband Ron, Christy Estes and husband John and Cathy Wood and husband Mike, all of Ada; a step-son, Russell Whitlock and wife Mary, tupelo; 11 grandchildren, Hunter and Kayli Macon, Sallisaw, Daylon Webb and wife Charity, Claremore, Chase and Rachel Wainscott, Ryan Estes and wife Lindsey, Kristen Estes, Lauren and Rylen Wood, all of Ada, and John and Margrett Whitlock, Tupelo; six great-grandchildren, Ellie Wainscott, Britleigh, Jagger, Halen and Nash Estes, all of Ada and Chaleigh Webb of Claremore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Artie Macon; and two sons, Scott and Tod Macon.
