Bill Lee
OAKMAN-Services for Billy Jack Lee, 82, of the Oakman Community, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Ada Church of the Nazarene, Revs. Jim Knight and Josh Lee will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakman Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Lee died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at an Ada nursing home. He was born February 22, 1932 at Steedman to W. A. "Bill" and Annie Hilton Lee. He attended Oakman grade school and graduated from Ada High School in 1951. He received a Bachelor's and Master's degree from East Central University and an Administrator's Certification.
He married Bonnie Ruth Willoughby on November 24, 1956. Mr. Lee taught school at Daugherty, Fitzhugh, Oakman and 23 years at Byng. Mr. Lee was the last principal at Oakman School and later, was the principal at Byng Elementary. He retired in 1986 with 29 years of service. He also attended the Arkansas Auctioneering School and was a licensed auctioneer. Mr. Lee served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 – 1953 in Okinawa. He was a Radar Operator and worked anti-aircraft weapons and guarded the island from air attacks. He was a long-time active member of the Ada Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie, of the home; a daughter, Sonya Stokes and her husband David of Ada; two sons, Kent Lee and his wife Kathy of Ada and Keven Lee and his wife Becky of Ada; six grandchildren, Nick Lee and wife Vanessa, Natalie Briggs and husband Heath, Jessica Schwarzott and husband Josh, Josh Lee and wife Bre, Taylor Stokes and fiancé Alexis and MaKenzie Stokes; his seven great grandchildren, Naaman Lee, Nash Lee, Austin Schwarzott, Jacob Schwarzott, Hunter Schwarzott, Maya Lee and Hayden Briggs; three brothers, Jerry Lee and wife Anna, Minco, Marion Lee, Galey and Terry Lee and wife Ruby of Byng; two sisters, Neatha Henry and husband Richard, Galey and Charlene Thomas, Ada; and many other relatives and friends.
His grandchildren will serve as bearers.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Ada Church of the Nazarene, 315 W. 33rd, Ada, OK 74820.
