BILLY HICKS, SR.
ARLINGTON, TEXAS-Billy Joe Hicks, Sr., 78, Arlington, TX, formerly of Ada died Saturday, October 18, 2008 in Arlington, Texas.
He was born May 14, 1930 to James Newton and Locke Belle Vick Hicks in Ada, Oklahoma.
As a young man, he served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and later with the military police. After leaving the service, he worked various jobs and was most recently employed by WEISER Security Services, Inc.
Survivors include two sisters, Freda Andrews, Arlington, TX, and Betty Walker and husband Stan, Edmond; five daughters, Karen Stites and husband Mike, Aberdeen, WA, Karla Johnson and husband Mark, Montesano, WA, Annette Valenzuela and husband Robert, Broken Arrow, Jeanne Preble and husband Marvin, Sand Springs, OK, and Lanora Lackore and husband Ron, Fairfield, CA; three sons, Billy Joe Hicks, Jr. and wife Chris, Lynnwood, WA, Ronnie Hicks and wife Theresa, Tulsa, and Robert Hicks and wife Tara, Tulsa; 29 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and a special friend, Laverne Wood and daughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Geneva Helen Brown and Golda Andrews and a brother, J. N. Hicks.
