ADA-Services for Billy Joe (B. J.) Taylor, 54, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor died Friday, February 1, 2013 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born September 21, 1958 in Rockford, Illinois to Bobby Joe and Vivian Stevens Taylor. He attended Westview Middle School in Rockford, Illinois. He and his family moved to Wilson, Oklahoma in 1972 and he graduated from Wilson High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University.
He married Cynthia Sykes on May 25, 1979 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. In 1980, he and Cindy moved to San Bernardino, California where he was employed by Continental Business Service until moving back to Oklahoma in 1994 to work for the Chickasaw Nation. He served as Director of Chickasaw Housing and later he served as the President of the Chickasaw Nation Industries Medical Division. His most current position was Operations Training Manager at the Division of Commerce. He was a proud citizen and voting member of the Chickasaw Nation.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Taylor, of the home; a son, John Curtis Taylor and his wife Jillian of Ada, and Lindsay Taylor of Los Angeles, California; his father, Bobby Joe Taylor of Ardmore, OK; and a brother, Mark Taylor and his wife Linda of Gainesville, TX.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Stevens Taylor.
Bearers will be Thomas Keel, Frank Johnson Jr., Melvin Burris, Mark Taylor, Jared Euper and Tom Euper.
