Bill Smith

Memorial service for Billy Gene "Bill" Smith, 79, of Ada will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Smith died Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born November 18, 1939 in Ada.

He married Tommie Lou Etier September 3, 1961. She preceded him in death July 17, 2007.  Mr. Smith graduated from Ada High School and received his Bachelor Degree from East Central University.  He served in the U. S. Air Force, former retired Assistant Chief of the Ada Police Department and has been employed as a counselor at Rolling Hills Hospital for 20 years.

Survivors include a son, Mike Smith; daughter, Shelly Johnson and husband Jay; three grandchildren, Zack Smith of Tahlequah, Christian Johnson and wife Abby of Piedmont, and Caden Johnson of Ada.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Fay McIntosh and a brother, Curtis Wayne Yates.
