Bill Kirkes

Visitation for Billie Burdette (Bill) Kirkes, 93, of Francis will be 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Kirkes passed peacefully away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in Norman. He was born January 27, 1927 in Roff, OK to H. L. and Clive Conner Kirkes. Bill attended school in Sunshine and Francis.

He married Jimmy Yuvonne Lambert, the love of his life, on October 16, 1953 in Francis, OK. She preceded him in death September 6, 2020.

After serving in the Navy during World War II, he became a pilot for American Dusting Company. He later purchased a ranch in the Francis area. Bill was a very loving husband and father, and a very loyal and hardworking person. He was one of the "Greatest Generation". Bill was an active longtime member of Francis First Baptist Church and a community leader for many years in Francis.

Survivors include son, Gus Kirkes and wife Jan; daughter, Linda Wade and husband Jim; son, Brian Kirkes; a sister, Bonita and husband Bill Kirkes; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sister, Faye Farmer; and brother, Max Kirkes.
