BILL JONES
ADA-Services for Bill Jones, 94, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Bobby Johns will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Jones died Friday, September 26, 2008 at a local hospital. He was born February 15, 1914 at Mulberry, Arkansas to Robert Lee and Maud Milligan Jones. He attended school at Scipio, Oklahoma. He moved to this area August 16, 1938 from McAlester.
Mr. Jones was employed with Ada Milling Company for two years, a bus driver for Denco Bus Company for twelve years, later, with Heard Oil Company from 1951 until his retirement in 1976. He was a maintenance employee at Citizens Bank from May 1988 until about 2000. During World War II, he was a construction engineer building Alaska highways. Mr. Jones was a longtime member of Southwest Church of Christ and the Independent Order of Odd Fellow.s
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Tryano, Norman; four granddaughters, Denise Kerner, Oklahoma City, Lynn Maine, Tucson, Arizona, Jeannie Rankin, Oklahoma City, and Russetta Deberry, Las Vegas, Nevada; one great granddaughter; six great grandsons; two great great grandsons; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dool Russell Jones in May, 2000.
