Bill Elkins

Services for Billy Ray Elkins, 89, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Craig Cochran will officiate.  Burial will follow at Centrahoma Cemetery.

Mr. Elkins died, Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at his home.  He was born December 24, 1928 in Centrahoma to Walter Scott and Lillie Francis Rhoden Elkins. He attended Centrahoma School.

He married Rose Marie Spink in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 20, 1952. She preceded him in death on October 30, 2007.  He was retired as a pipeline project construction superintendent.  Mr. Elkins was a member of the Texas Ranger Association, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was very interested in family genealogy. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three daughters, Brenda K. Jennings of Houston, TX, Paula R. Wilhelm and husband Mark of Ft. Worth, TX, and Karen M. Carpenter of Kingston, OK; three sons, David P.A. Elkins and wife Toni of Ada, Richard A. L. Elkins of Dougherty, and William T. (Chip) Elkins and Jane Owens of Ada; 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Woodrow, Walter Scott, Roy and Calvin Elkins; one sister, Christine Rudd; and a son-in-law, Kenneth Carpenter, Jr.

Bearers will be his grandsons, Daniel Childress, Russell Childress, Michael Elkins, Matthew Elkins, Mark Elkins, and Corey Jennings.  Honorary bearers will be John DAguanno and Jeff Edgar.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to St. Jude's Cancer Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
