CURT ROGERS

ADA-Services for Bill Curtis "Curt" Rogers, 51, Ada, are 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church, Revs. Steve Wilburn and Randy Golden will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Brother Rogers died Monday, November 5, 2007 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born June 18, 1956 at Midland, Texas to William C. "Bill" and Ruth Armstrong Rogers. He and his family came to this area in 1965 from Grand Falls, Texas. He graduated from Latta High School in 1974 and East Central University in May, 1997 with a Bachelor of Education degree in History.

He married Sherry Montgomery on June 29, 1975 at Colbert Baptist Church in Ada, Oklahoma. Bro. Rogers had been employed with Ada Coca-Cola Company, Ada Paper Company, and with the Latta Public Schools, working in many areas of the school. He also served as a minister with several area churches including Union Hill Baptist Church, Hickory Baptist Church, Francis Baptist Church, Morris Memorial, Fitzhugh Baptist Church, Allen Baptist Church, and retired from the ministry at High Hill Baptist Church. He also served as a hospice chaplain. Brother Rogers was a member of High Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Rogers, of the home; his children, Chad Rogers and wife Missy, Chickasha, Kim Kenley and husband Trey, Ada, Lisa Leininger and husband Kris, Edmond, Staci Rogers, of the home, and Kyle Rogers, of the home; his mother, Ruth Rogers, Ada; two sisters, Barbara Jones, Ada, and Kelly Payne and husband Steve, Union Valley; a brother, Cody Rogers, Hot Springs, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Kaleigh Russell age 7, Brylea Russell, age 4, and Carter Beau Kenley, age 1; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William C. "Bill" Rogers on April 21, 1998.

Bearers will be Phil Shivers, Roger Strong, Bill Dixon, Terry Painter, Gary Biggs, Jamie Davis, Jimmy Davis, and Terry Shortes. Honorary bearers will be Joe Bradshaw, Earl Stewart, Jr., Charles Morrow, Leonard Morgan, Bob Tolliver, Don Boatwright, Joey Morrow, Joe Dixon, Bud Throne, Jerald Harris, Jerry Studebaker, Mike Beller, James Miller, Chester Sneed, Cliff Johnson, and Stan Cochran.
