Betty Ann Young

Graveside services for Betty Ann Young, 80, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13 th at Five-Mile Cemetery, east of Ada.

Ms. Young passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at a local nursing home. She was born January 16, 1940 at Sulphur to Herbert Potes and Ruby Brown Potes.

Ms. Young had been a teacher a McCall's Chapel. She was an excellent piano player, hilarious story-teller, enjoyed sewing and making jewelry. Ms. Young was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church. She was a Christian woman who raised many children.

Survivors include her children, Lena Ervin and husband Jay, Ada, Debbie Batteron, Sulphur, Sharon Evans and husband Wayne, Duncan; Becky Chimes, Debbie Ruth, Jim Tate, and Lisa Tate, all of California; Chuck Manous and wife Lisa, Ada, Harold Price and wife Luicille, Ada, and Ellen Slaten, Davis; a sister, Edith Houston, Waurika; 24 grandchildren; many great-grand and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Richmond Wyatt, Bert Potes and Floyd Potes; a daughter, Pat Hauge; and a son, Bill Tate.

Bearers will be Carl Brooks, Harold Price, Robert Yates, Justin Tate, Christopher Manous and Gage Brown.
