BETTY VOSS
ADA-Services for former long-time Ada resident, Betty Jo Voss, 93, are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Bud Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Voss died Monday, January 20, 2014 at Shawnee Care Center. She was born February 9, 1920 at Rocky, Oklahoma to Byron and Myrtle Welch Fullerton. She graduated from Gotebo High School. She continued her education at Oklahoma College for Women, earning her degree in Vocational Home Economics.
She married Stanly Edward Voss on November 27, 1940. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1970. Mrs. Voss was a teacher and founding director of the Ruth Rader Daycare Center. She was a member of Central Church of Christ, the Valley View Hospital Auxiliary, the Pontotoc County Retired Educators Association, and the Prime Timers.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Holt and her husband Byron of Bethel Acres, OK; a son, Randall Voss and wife Mayumi of Hitachi, Japan; her grandchildren, Amber Rebekka Pringle and husband Tom Pringle of Bethel Acres, OK, Kacey Denise Komarek and husband Josh Komarek of Wichita, KS, Karen Holt of New York City, NY, Andrew Isamu Voss of Mito, Japan, Brian Akira Voss of Maebashi, Japan, and Jason Yutaka Voss of Tokyo, Japan; her great grandchildren, Herbie Dean Brandon, Jr., Tryston Lee Brandon, Jackson Lon Komarek, Ethan Michael Komarek, Ella Grace Komarek, Lindsay Christin Pringle and Sarah Devin Lynn Pringle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a daughter, Sandra Jeanne Voss on January 24, 1947.
Bearers will be Bill Nelson, Burr Harris, Marc Cox, Herbie Brandon, Tryston Brandon and Gene Wilcox. Honorary bearers will be Tom Pringle, Bryon Holt, Josh Komarek and Laymond Purser.
