Obituary

Betty Lou Park passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 in Ada, at the age of 91.  She was born December 3, 1929 in Stringtown, OK to Denton and Ruth Furr Logan.  She graduated high school in Stringtown, OK and was the Valedictorian of her class.  She later attended Southeastern and East Central University.

Betty married John P. Park November 4, 1950.  The couple met while working at the library at Southeastern University.  They settled in Ada in the late 1950's.  He preceded her in death August 5, 1999.  Betty was a longtime active member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was a nursery attendant for many years while also assisting John who was the church treasurer.  She was a member of the Healthy Heart Club and Valley View Auxiliary.

Betty was a devoted and loving mother.  She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a "Meme" to her six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.  Betty loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family and friends was important to her.  Betty enjoyed cooking and watching sports events, especially Ada Cougars, Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and OKC Thunder.

Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Compton and husband Larry, Ada; and Alice Maloy and husband Harold, Mustang; Five dearly loved granddaughters: Jayme Gruszeczka and husband Olof, Stillwater; Katy Baker and husband Jeff, Kremlin; Jenny Fudickar and husband Ben, Oklahoma City; Johnna Isaacs and husband Justin, Ada; Allison Duncan and husband Josh, Yukon; one dearly loved grandson, Jeff Maloy and wife Sara, Allen; eight great granddaughters; and seven great grandsons.  Plus numerous greatly loved friends.

Betty had a love for her many dogs, cats and pet chicken like no other.

The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to her caregivers at Featherstone Assisted Living and Kindful Hospice team.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Denton and Ruth; her husband, John; and an infant daughter, Mary Kathryn Park.

A memorial service of celebration will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church, 301 E. Kings Road, Ada, Oklahoma, by Pastor Scott White.
