BETTY ANN BAILEY

ADA-Funeral Service for Betty Ann Bailey, 85, of Ada, is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Criswell's Funeral Home. The Rev. Bill Sluder will officiate. The burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Bailey died Friday, February 15, 2013 in Victoria, Texas. She was born August 8, 1927, at Duncan, Oklahoma to William Henry "Bill" and Mamie Ganel Fine Williams. She attended schools at Fitzhugh and Ada, Oklahoma.

She married W.H. Bailey on September 27, 1951 at Sherman, Texas.

Survivors include her son, Larry and Debbi, granddaughter Sasha Burns, and great grandson Devin Burns of Victoria, Texas; brother, Billy Joe Williams and Betty of Midland, Texas; sister, Patricia L. Williams of Moore, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Helen Bailey of Dardanelle, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Michael and Naomi Bailey of Edmond, Oklahoma. Nieces and nephews include Kim Williams Morris, Brad Williams, Kent Williams, Phillip Williams, Joe Don Dufour, Steve Dufour, Nancy Bailey Rasumsson, Joe Bailey, and Rhonda Bailey Hobbs. A close family friend is Clarence Rothell of Ada.

She was preceded in death by her husband W.H. "Bill" Bailey, on April 26, 2010 and son, Billy Ray "Bojoe" Bailey, on February 20, 1975, both of Ada; a brother James Harlan Williams, of Kingston, OK; and her parents Bill and Mamie Williams of Ada, Oklahoma.

Betty and "Bailey" owned Bailey's Drive-Inn on Mississippi Street in Ada in the early 1950's. She was a bookkeeper for Woolworth and TG&Y. She retired from TG&Y in 1982 to live near Fitzhugh where she grew up, regularly attending the Roff Senior Citizens Center. Moving back to Ada in 1996, Betty and "Bailey" attend the Irving Senior Citizens Center for games and lunch every day. She was a member of Oak Avenue Baptist Church, Ada, Oklahoma. Her favorite hobbies were sewing, cooking, playing dominos and cards, jigsaw puzzles and working crossword puzzles. She enjoyed growing flowers in her yard and working on family land near Homer.
