BERTHA COOK
ADA-Services will be held later for Bertha L. Cook, 91, Ada.
Mrs. Cook died Monday, August 2, 2010 at her home. She was born August 25, 1918 at Beardstown, Illinois to Oren E. and Mary Saathoff Lindley. She and her family moved to Redondo Beach, California in 1931. She graduated from Redondo Union High School and from Biola University in Los Angeles.
She married Asjborn "Norge" Cook in 1942. He preceded her in death in 2004. Mrs. Cook was a homemaker and an active member of Rolling Hills Covenant Church in Rolling Hills, California. She came to Ada in March 2009. Mrs. Cook attended Morris Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Colleen Johnson and husband Bob, Ada, and Mary Jean Cope and husband Dr. Dennis Cope, Simi Valley, California; two sons, Doug Cook and wife Chris, Ladera Rancho, California, and Tom Cook and wife Karen, Portland, Oregon; one sister, Audria Lindley, Rancho Palos Verdes, California; two brothers, Bob Lindley, Laguna Beach, California, and Walter Lindley, Palm Springs, California; ten grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Lindley.
